About My Giclée Fine Art Prints

The giclée process I use starts with the original art, mounted on a moving platform, being scanned by a specially designed large format  4 x 5 digital camera coupled to a unique lighting system.  Able to resolve images only 8 microns apart, it uses a complex software algorithm to maximize resolution and focus, with a file size of up to 800 megabytes.

The image is then managed in a computer software application using a spectrophotometer as well as the human eye to insure that the color match is perfect.

Each print is produced on Hahnemuhle 100% photo rag smooth and bright white watercolor paper. The enhanced digital inkjet printer uses water fast archival inks to render the image on  this specially coated clay based paper. An individual ink droplet is only 1.5 microns, resulting in unsurpassed fidelity to the original artwork. The result is a museum quality fine art print with perfect, vivid hues, the full range of value, and accurate chroma. All prints come with a 2 inch wide white border.
